Thrift store show-off

Just wanted to show off a few things I picked up at Goodwill recently. I was planning on making a welcome sign for my front door entry and brainstorming ideas recently. When I came across this cross stitch at Goodwill, it was like fate brought us together. All I had to do was add the ribbon and screw a hook into the wall [it was already framed!]. I love that it looks like I really tried.

These Minnetonka Moccasins are pink, look brand new, and are ultra comfy. I want to wear them with everything.

Another puzzle for the man and I. We are puzzle obsessed. It took me so long to put these pictures up, that we’ve already completed the puzzle by now.

I found a fantastic contest for you all to enter, especially my engaged friends out there. It’s Ruffled blog’s first DIY contest called “Found Tucked Away and Used Today”. Since I’m in the middle of planning my own wedding, I have DIY ideas brewing in my head all the time. I plan on entering something, and will of course share it here on Picture Party.

Reason to celebrate.

Tomorrow is my HALF birthday…… 21.5. Yes, I’ve been celebrating half birthdays for at least 5 years now. Remember how important half a year was when we were kids? Even a quarter of a year was sometimes noted in an age. My tip of the day: if you want to make someone feel special, remember to wish them a happy birthday. If you want to make someone feel extremely special and cherished and favored upon the earth, remember to wish them a happy half birthday.

In honor of my half birthday, Yuriy got me these adorable wood coasters from Anthropologie. Each coaster has a different creature carved from wood. It was so thoughtful because I most certainly was not expecting anything. Doesn’t he have the best taste?!

My girlfriends and I are leaving on a late night road trip to Portland tonight… so excited! I figured I might as well go wedding dress shopping while I’m down there, so I have a couple appointments tomorrow morn. Will it ever end?! I feel like I’ve been dress shopping for way too long. Some girls have such incredible luck choosing one on the first go. Nonetheless, a group road trip and city exploring and eating delicious food in new places sounds nice [it's always about the food].

Today I’m inspired by…

Strawberry wedding invites by Promise Tangeman. Who knew these two bright colors could look so good together?

Stephanie Eatherly– She is a full time missionary/volunteer artist. She makes art not for arts sake, but for the sake of others. 50% of profit from her art goes right back into the ministry while the other 50% goes into new art equipment. I am always blown away by people who dedicate their lives to non-profit.

Why didn’t I think of a mobile cupcakery first? Jose Villa’s photographs of Enjoy Cupcakes are adorable. I love the colors of the trailer and the furnishings inside are perfect.

This rug. I want to get married outside just so my man and I can stand on a pretty rug in the grass. Such a neat idea! [Don't worry, we're still getting married indoors. Seattle and a fall wedding outdoors is risky business. All the guests with pretty heels and curled hair would kill me.]
