The boyfriend and I stopped by the local Goodwill joint yesterday to pick up a cheap jigsaw puzzle. While browsing the kitchen aisle, my eyes lit up on a lovely red strawberry shaped teapot. Yuriy rolled his eyes. There happened to be a nice lady in our aisle, busy looking at her own merchandise. Yuriy tapped her on the shoulder and asked if she thought the teapot was cute. In all seriousness, the lady agreed with me 100% and more. She told him that he had to think like a woman [best advice of the day]. He succeeded in talking me out of it, telling me I didn’t need it, had no where to put it in my small apartment, already had a functioning teapot, and so on. I agreed with him. Before we left the aisle, he left me to go use the restroom. The absence of his masculine, logically reasoning self immediately cleared my mind. I wanted the teapot, and I was going to buy the teapot. I picked it up and proudly held onto my treasure with both hands… $4! No man could change my mind.
When I see something delightful, I often don’t know what I’m going to do with it in my home, but eye candy is hard to resist. Well friends, I can testify that I haven’t felt an ounce of regret for this purchase. I managed to make some room for it… it now sits happily on my fridge. Every time I see it, I want to share it with someone and how close it came to slipping through my fingers… thus the final push I needed to start my blog. This is the best way I can share my finds, my creations, my inspirations, my ideas, my goals with a slightly bigger audience than my boyfriend, lovely as he is. Additionally, I’m currently working a fab job with Yuriy Manchik Photographers, and this is a place to share what I’m currently shooting. Welcome to Picture Party blog.
