Thrift store show-off

Just wanted to show off a few things I picked up at Goodwill recently. I was planning on making a welcome sign for my front door entry and brainstorming ideas recently. When I came across this cross stitch at Goodwill, it was like fate brought us together. All I had to do was add the ribbon and screw a hook into the wall [it was already framed!]. I love that it looks like I really tried.

These Minnetonka Moccasins are pink, look brand new, and are ultra comfy. I want to wear them with everything.

Another puzzle for the man and I. We are puzzle obsessed. It took me so long to put these pictures up, that we’ve already completed the puzzle by now.

I found a fantastic contest for you all to enter, especially my engaged friends out there. It’s Ruffled blog’s first DIY contest called “Found Tucked Away and Used Today”. Since I’m in the middle of planning my own wedding, I have DIY ideas brewing in my head all the time. I plan on entering something, and will of course share it here on Picture Party.

Natalia K - LOVE your post today, so I have to comment on everything:
1. the cross-stitch–no way!! what an awesome thrifty find–i would totally hang that in my entry.
2. the mocs–sweet–you and noah can be moccasin buddies–he’s got baby minnetonkas
3. the puzzle–i forgot to give you the puzzles i’ve been saving for you when you were in town–and one of them is even of boise–it’s a birthday gift from long ago (yes, tanya o, it’s that one) that now needs a new home–remind me to give it to you next time you’re here.

Fred - Someone is greatly obsessed with Goodwill. Its kinda embarrassing to let others know that you shop there.

Julia - I disagree Fred. By shopping at Goodwill, I get to save money, find cool stuff, and reduce waste at landfills by reusing perfectly good stuff. Win win win.

Tanya M - I love all your great finds, but that cross stitch is definitely my favorite. I cannot believe you can find something like that at a thrift store. Not here, you can’t. Thrifting with you was actually on my to-do list when I visit, and now we HAVE to do it. Who knows what we’ll find next!

Sarah - Hi, I just stumbled across your blog (found through Sean Flanigan’s) and I’ve loved going back through all your posts! I feel a special kinship because I grew up in Boise as well, and I share your love for all things food, DIY, thrift store, photo, fun fashion etc. Beautiful blog and best wishes on your upcoming wedding! I’m sure I’ll be checking back often :)
